So Trump is going to be a kinder, gentler candidate who doesn’t throw his audience red meat and who will…unify the country against immigrants and Democrats and Joe Biden and “lawfare” and, I guess, gun violence?

Is he going to spend the next three months reminding Americans “I got shot, you know”? That’s not going to get old fast, is it?* And we all think this will keep MAGA on side while winning the non-MAGA majority?

I rarely engage this stuff, but this criticism of yesterday’s coverage is of course shameless nonsense by people who know better.

And Elmo will become a kinder, gentler, quieter person. Or at least take back his contribution to Trump.

And New Trump will still get all those MAGAt donations he depends on.

Sure. That’s what happens next.

*MSNBC canceled their most popular show, “Morning Joe,” this morning because of the shooting, which MSNBC is reporting on breathlessly. Apparently they feared what one of the guests might say. I suspect most of the country is more over the shock of that story than news departments are. Not only does this event not change everything; I doubt it changes anything.

Except Trump won’t be doing any more outside rallies.
