Not quite sure how all of our First Amendment freedoms have been "assaulted," especially freedom of speech, the press, and to assemble (that refers to marches, not to stadia or businesses. I don't hear any Republican complaining about curfews to curtail violence, in D.C. or around the country, or to a business owner’s right to “No shoes, no shirt, no service.” Which covers “no mask,” too.)."You're making this a personal thing, and it isn't ... my recommendations are not a personal recommendation. It is based on the CDC guidance ... we're not talking about liberties. We're talking about a pandemic that has killed 560,000 Americans" -- Fauci to Jim Jordan pic.twitter.com/Q0TzaaGlAG

Best I can tell, Gym Jordan wants the Constitution to be a mutual suicide pact where we all make each other sick and then all freely step into the grave, holding hands and singing "The Star-Spangled Banner."
How will we ever know? We've had our freedom of speech and free press taken away from us by wearing masks and social distancing. This - I'm sure there's a bakery out there that the Republicans will want to boycott to add 'apple pie' to the things they are against.

Jim Jordan clearly thinks Matt Gaetz's freedom to transport minors who are sex trafficked across state and possibly national boundaries is sacred, why else would he join Madge T. Greene in defending him?
ReplyDeleteI'm in the early stages of thinking out just how screwy things are when it's Republican-fascists, white-supremacists, male women-haters, neo-fascists and neo-Nazis who are the biggest fattest champions of "freedom" "liberty" "The First Amendment" as they are today and it's those who want equal rights who are their targets. I can't think it's unrelated to the fact that the same rich-white-slave-holding men who write The First Amendment also wrote The Second Amendment and the 3/5th provision to the Constitution and the Electoral College. You don't get that many problems coming from one document written by the same group of people without it being at least in part the product of intent. Considering they were mostly sharp lawyers, I doubt it was not by intent.
