Fauci Is on MTP…

He’s saying non-vaccinated people are making it worse for all of us because as Covid spreads it will mutate, and it is clearly spreading.

So, question to the Senator: people choosing for themselves are choosing for the rest of us. Why do you ignore the “public” in “public health”?

Whose side are you on? The people’s, or the virus’s?

  1. The answer is the same for Scott, Noem, Abott, DeSantis, Sununu, etc. their on the side of their own power no matter how many people die so they can strike a pose for "freedom" to be as selfish and irresponsible as you want to be.

  2. I keep thinking about Sartre's evaluation of ethics, and his argument that when you choose how to treat the people you know (ethics is about behavior toward others. A hermit in the forest needs no ethic at all), you choose for all humankind because you are deciding what humans are and how they should be treated (and how you expect them to treat you and consider you). He meant to emphasize the responsiblity inherent in the decision. This is the opposite of even that definition of ethical.

Which makes it, really, anarchism. It's Thatcher's idiot notion that there is no "society," combined with good old American "Fuck all y'all!" Except Sartre was right: when we choose, we do choose for others. And what these people are choosing is death: though primarily for me, because they really can't concieve of death for themselves except abstractly. Which is the same way they see the rest of us: as abstractions drawn from their egos, not as concrete beings wholly other to them.

Stop me before I go all phenomenological on this.

  3. I was woken by a skunk walking outside my window at about one thirty this morning and haven't slept since. I'd love you to go all phenomenological most times but I'm already at the point of wondering if I'm still awake and it's going to be a busy day. Moving, even temporarily, is a lot harder than the last time I did it forty years ago.
