Chuck Todd Has His Finger On The Pulse Of The Nation

From his studio in Rockefeller Center in New York City. The nation's nerve center, donchaknow?

So, lemme see:  Trump didn't accomplish anything legislatively in 4 years except Paul Ryan's tax cut for the rich (after which Ryan retired, his entire political career having achieved its goal).  His approval ratings were underwater for 4 years.  The GOP Senate purposefully killed anything the Dem House sent over for 2 years.  Trump purposely killed as many as he could railing against masks and shutdowns and any measure that would curb covid, and he continued to do so in a fit of pique after he lost.

And yet Trump wasn't a lame duck until late November of 2020?  And he's viable now?

How does this work, again?  The narrative must be served at all costs. and the narrative that "Dems are in disarray" cannot be discarded because Republicans don't govern, but at least they punish their party members who don't toe the party line?  And that's better because...well, why, exactly?

And if (a HUGE "IF") Todd is right, and the American voter must have his "G" spot stroked constantly or he just stays home in a huff, then we deserve Trump redux, and the GOP in charge.  Because all they do is stoke their base.  They do absolutely nothing else.  If that's the government we want, we're gonna have it.

Even Chuck Todd doesn't believe that; but it's the logical conclusion to his analysis.

Lord spare me from idiot pundits.

  1. Meat Head Press is the right title for that show and has been since they stopped having guests meet the press. It was never a great idea because the DC press is some of the most fully invested in things as they are on behalf of the rich. Chuck is one of the worst and one of the stupider ones of them. You really don't have to be smart you just have to know the perennial practices of the corporate media and Democrats never winning is one of their most central practices. The NYT times and other networks, NPR more than most, too.
