Meanwhile, In Bizzaro World

I have to throw this one in, because I don’t understand this at all. A) Pete Rose is dead. So he can’t accept the pardon (not a legal issue, but it makes it even more weird).

B) He plead guilty to tax evasion (i.e., cheating on his taxes.)

C) He served 5 months for it.

D) He was banned from the Baseball Hall of Fame for gambling, but he never faced federal criminal charges for gambling.

E) The lifetime ban was based on the gambling, not the criminal conviction.

F) Did I mention he’s dead?

So: whiskey tango foxtrot?

OR: is Trump stung by world and national reaction to that mess in the Oval Office yesterday, and this is his first attempt to change the narrative? By doing something he can unilaterally do, without concern that a court will be asked to look into it or, worse, reverse it.

It’s the only way I can figure it out.
