What Campaigns Are For

In amongst the gibberish Trump reveals what his lawyers told him: if he took the stand, he could be asked about a lot of thing’s going back years. Not everything or anything, as he implies, but more than he’d want to talk about. He didn’t testify, in short, because he didn’t want to be cross-examined. EOD.

The blather about Engoron is the same old-same old. Engoron has a long history of trials. Trump is obsessed that Engoron was reversed on 5 of them. Although this is Trump, who knows what the truth of that is? And what does it matter? This is Trump the five year old, refusing to face reality.

I really don’t know why anyone interviews Trump anymore. He just recycles the same bullshit.
And repeating it, he has to make it worse. The Congo? “Deepest, darkest Africa” Congo? The mythical place of European fears, where Kurtz met his death and a thousand serials showed the natives haunting the dreams of the white man? Certainly not the real Congo horrors of King Leopold.

The xenophobia just pours off the man like flop sweat. He really is just a completely vile human being.

And don’t tell me this won’t be considered by voters in November, that they’ve already forgotten five years ago, and six, and seven. Hell, six weeks ago Biden was going to lose because de yout were all going to abandon him over Gaza.

Yeah, all 300 of them, spread across a dozen campuses. Most of whom are now dealing with the consequences of their actions, or already moving on as they go back home. They probably won’t even vote in November; and no one will notice.

Put Trump in a debate setting and let him rant like this. It won’t be hard to get him started. Let the country see who’s on offer.

That’s what campaigns are for.
