Or it could mean VA usually votes for the party that hasn’t just taken the White House. Which, I understand, is usually what happens. It’s frequently read as a referendum on the person in the White House. Either way, it’s apparently common for the VA Gov., like the midterms, to go to the party not in the Oval Office.If Youngkin is able to win VA tomorrow, it will be the first (successful) example of what @TheRickWilson called "Running Trumpism through the car wash." It doesn't look so bad, it doesn't sound so bad, but it's still the same vehicle.

So VA might have nothing to do with Trump at all. Although Trump won’t say that. Or, apparently, his fiercest opposition. It’s almost like they need each other.
You know, like Manchin and the press at the moment.
