Does the kind of nonsense emptywheel is (rightly) commenting on here going to change the outcome of one court case? (The DOJ is up to 1000 arrests so far. No sign they're through). No, of course not. Will it change one mind about what happened on J6? No, I think not. The people already taking MTG seriously are not going to be surprised or inspired that Tucker is as crazy as she is. That's baked in.

And not for the last time, but as emptywheel understands, what really matters is what happens in the courtroom.

Rabid supporters of Trump who think MTG is right and these people are all "political prisoners" are thin on the ground and not likely to elect an even more MAGA Congress in 2024.  I don't like Tucker Carlson, but Jeebus Christmas, look who he's "inspiring":
