"Summon at will”? Is Trump Dracula now? He can control animals and elemental forces by sheer force of will?My take, fresh off the keyboard. | Trump “upped the ante,” @RadioFreeTom writes. "He is warning all of us, point-blank, that he will violate the law if he wants to, and if you don’t like it, you can take it up with the mob that he can summon at will.” https://t.co/WWs8K6SIIX

I know why Trump wants to scare people into thinking he’s all-powerful. Why do pundits like Tom Nichols want to do it, too?
Last I heard Trump could barely get 1000 people to come to his rally in Iowa. That’s why he now says his rally in Waco is the “first” of his campaign for POTUS.
“Summon at will.” Who you trying to scare? And why?
I’ve read as much of the column as I can behind the paywall (why pay for more opinions?), so it could be this is just a scare quote to drive clicks (and payments). But who needs more inflammatory rhetoric? Even if this is just another version of “it bleeds, it leads.” In fact, that’s bad enough, too.
