a) Mexico hasn't really done anything, but Trump says the crisis is over so: presto, the crisis vanishes! Until he needs it back again.....long before they get to our Southern Border. Guatemala is getting ready to sign a Safe-Third Agreement. The only ones who won’t do anything are the Democrats in Congress. They must vote to get rid of the loopholes, and fix asylum! b) If Guatemala signs an agreement as toothless and vague as the secret deal with Mexico, Guatemala is only agreeing to give Trump another PR victory.
c) If ICE does begin rounding up immigrants, where do they put them until deportation hearings? For each one of them. Doesn't matter: Trump will declare it "done" and our country safe for xenophobes everywhere, even if not a single person is detained.
d) And when is Mitch McConnell going to allow an immigration bill to even come to the floor of the Senate? Or any bill, for that matter?
