It's That Special Time of Year Again
Yeah, it's a thing. Yeah, we celebrate it.
The State flag, and the state flower.

Maine became a state on March 15, 1820, it was part of Massachusetts before that. In some ways that was good, in some ways that was bad in ways that still effect life here. I'm not sure what celebrations are planned, I suspect that as is typical of Mainers (or at least as we like to believe we are) it will be self-effacing and low key. I'm glad it's too cold to encourage outdoors celebrations. I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of even we natives will not know as the day passes. Which is good because we're no better at that thing than most people are.
