And how much winds up in a library with nothing in it that nobody wants to host and will probably never be built?

Guess it depends on how many big money donors he needed to raise all that money he wouldn’t spend on Giuliani. It’s an honest question I don’t know the answer to. $2 billion from “small donors” would seem to require an astronomical number of donors.* And I think most of them will be paying legal fees for the foreseeable future.

*Playing with the back of the envelope, at an average of $20 apiece, Trump would need 100 million donors to reach his goal. He couldn’t get that many votes, and voting doesn’t cost money. What this really reveals is Trump’s absolute innumeracy. He doesn’t understand the impossibility, he just likes the sound of “billions.”
