There’s a sleight-of-hand in the “21 million” story. A poll finds that many people support Trump, and the same number doubled support violence to return Trump to office. Which means, obviously, a Trumpian army of 21 million (based on an extrapolation of the polling, and a category error of how poll responses by a few hundred represent the attitudes of millions).

No, it means at worst you need to screen your jury pool for any case involving violence aimed at returning Trump to office; at most. 21 million slavering hordes waiting on Trump’s command? Yeah, sounds more like this guy.

I don’t know what to say about this. This is just fucking insane. I suppose Bannon is going to raise an entire civilization now, and we’re almost too late to stop it.

The lunatic fringe isn’t just on one side of the political spectrum. And when you listen to them carefully, you begin to notice how much they sound alike. And the crazier their threats, the more impotent they are.
