Uh...This is probably the most terrifying bit..

Donald Trump down to MTG, Boebert, Cawthorn, and a collection of crazies to be named in 2022, all agree Democrats are the enemy and want to turn us all into gay socialists! So, I'm not sure it's the Democrats who "despise the other party."One of the best things about working on Capitol Hill was going out after work with friends - and I never cared what party they belonged to. It’s terrible that those days seem over.

Young Democrats more likely to despise the other party - Axios https://t.co/bRSJbUGud8
And which party is screaming about CRT and trying to ban any book in any school library that includes the word "gay" (I guess they'll get around to banning "Deck the halls" any day now)? Or, as Axios points it:Hey, remember which side of the political aisle spends all their time talking about tolerance and diversity? https://t.co/DKgkPd0TXy

Between the lines: Democrats argue that modern GOP positions, spearheaded by former President Trump — are far outside of the mainstream and polite conversation. Some have expressed unyielding positions on matters of identity — including abortion, LGBTQ rights and immigration — where they argue human rights, and not just policy differences, are at stake.
Basically the GOP response is the argument of incels: you should like me despite the fact I'm a flaming asshole who hates your guts!
Yeah, that's gonna solve the problem right there.
