Texas has a hefty electoral count, but even combined with those other states and Florida, it ain’t near enough.

4/ It's just that...wait for it...voters didn't like it. No matter where you stand on abortion, the audience for the state GOP's legislatures setting up snitch bounties (eg Texas) and forcing pre-teen rape victims to carry and ectopic victims to die has a very small constituency.

And DeSantis's stance probably kills him in at least 40 states.

Just back of the envelope calculates he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in south Texas. Not that the pundits will acknowledge that.

DeSantis is the new Chris Christie. If he gets the nomination, the GOP is a spent force.

If you understood the infrastructure around Mitch McConnell, and the insane money his consultants have skimmed from WinRed, tollbooth lobbying deals, and hire-us-or-die deals with Republican Senate candidates, your eyes would pop out.
