So Now I’m Wondering…

...if anyone besides some random people on Twitter are going to notice this completely idiotic and absolutely divorced from reality statement.

Vox didn’t so much as mention it. Nothing about it on Maggie Haberman’s Twitter feed. If you google “Trump CPAC border wall” you won’t come up with one reference to this CPAC conference. Not CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, AP. All have articles on the speech; none found this claim worthy of their narrative frame.

Granted it’s not the biggest moment from the CPAC keynote by the man every political reporter keeps reminding us is the GOP front runner for the Presidential nomination; but it is a bizarre statement from the former POTUS.

There were 649 miles of border wall in 2011. Trump added 52 miles. The entire border is 1954 miles. That means Trump thinks there were 1253 miles of border wall built and ready to install, but Biden removed it to a “hiding area.” Does anybody else find this to be the ramblings of a man who doesn’t even understand reality?

Or do we ignore this because “objective journalism”? Or more likely because no one wants to break the narrative of what this speech means for the 2024 race? And we dare not discuss how utterly deranged Donald Trump is, even when he says it out of his own mouth in a public forum.

Of course, I’d love to be wrong.
