The Texas Capitol has a fence around the grounds. AFAIK, it’s been there since the Capitol was built . So it’s fairly easy to close it down. That’s part of this story.None of the people outside the Texas State Capitol at 12:30 p.m. Saturday would say why they were gathered. pic.twitter.com/fQ3aroQ4tO

The other part is the protest at Twitter HQ in San Francisco. Remember that? One person showed up. Beginning to see a pattern here?
Trump’s followers had their moment on January 6; and that moment is over. The terror over what might happen in the states is real and serious. But it also won’t come to anything. Nothing serious is going to happen in D.C., either. Whatever happens will be only a ghost of what happened 2 weeks earlier. Which is a good thing. And when the 20th ends and nothing has happened, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. But it is over. Trump’s “troops” are a spent force. The revolution has come, and now it has gone. Trump will leave office and whatever power he has in his supporters eyes will pass, too. It already has.
The odds against anything happening that is even an echo of January 6th are increasing as time passes. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Ding dong, the witch is dead. Well, one of them, anyway. And now we know matters who’s in the Oval Office. Here’s hoping we don’t forget that lesson soon.
