Be Careful What You Wish For

Breathless headlines pretty much promised me this kind of thing wouldn't happen today. Yeah, about that: let's go to the text! (Well, some of it)

Our Nation is in deep peril. We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty.

You know it's a wowser when they hearken back to 1776.  But I doubt anybody under 60 realizes "Marxism" is a scare-word meant to invoke the fears of the 1950's.  Mainly because today there are no major nations which are Marxist in any shape, manner, or form.  They might as well reference the "domino theory" and the "spectre of international communism!"  Pro tip:  whenever you see anyone use the word "Marxist(or -ism)", the message is aimed at aging Boomers, and almost no one else in the country.

Where were we?

Without fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the “will of the people” our Constitutional Republic is lost. Election integrity demands insuring there is one legal vote cast and counted per citizen. Legal votes are identified by State Legislature’s approved controls using government IDs, verified signatures, etc. Today, many are calling such commonsense controls “racist” in an attempt to avoid having fair and honest elections. Using racial terms to suppress proof of eligibility is itself a tyrannical intimidation tactic. Additionally, the “Rule of Law” must be enforced in our election processes to ensure integrity. The FBI and Supreme Court must act swiftly when election irregularities are surfaced and not ignore them as was done in 2020. Finally, H.R.1 & S.1, (if passed), would destroy election fairness and allow Democrats to forever remain in power violating our Constitution and ending our Representative Republic. 

You know, 66 cases were brought between Election Day and January 6, 2021, and not one of them presented any credible evidence of a failure in "integrity."  What these former military people are calling for is a complete abandonment of the rule of law and governmental order in favor of the outcome 124 people endorse.  VERY democratic.  This is why the Commander-in-Chief is a civilian.  Probably why we shouldn't have a standing military, either.  Fewer retired military personnel on government pensions sitting around with nothing to do but cause trouble.

Aside from the election, the Current Administration has launched a full-blown assault on our Constitutional rights in a dictatorial manner, bypassing the Congress, with more than 50 Executive Orders quickly signed, many reversing the previous Administration’s effective policies and regulations. Moreover, population control actions such as excessive lockdowns, school and business closures, and most alarming, censorship of written and verbal expression are all direct assaults on our fundamental Rights. We must support and hold accountable politicians who will act to counter Socialism, Marxism and Progressivism, support our Constitutional Republic, and insist on fiscally responsible governing while focusing on all Americans, especially the middle class, not special interest or extremist groups which are used to divide us into warring factions.

This is my favorite bit.  Schools, to begin with, didn't close.  Campuses closed, education continued.  And the decisions to close school campuses and business was made at the state level, not by Washington.  (And the states that made bad decisions were run by Republicans, which had higher death rates than Democratically run states.  One wonders what "freedom" the dead enjoy, but "freedom" is just another buzz word to these clowns, so:  whatever.) But even better is Biden using E.O.'s to reverse Trump's E.O.'s.  Somehow Trump's were neither "dictatorial" nor "a full-blown assault on our Constitutional rights," but Biden's are.  Well, they've scrapped "rule of law," might as well take it all down.  Well, except for the military and their government pensions.  Don't touch those, right?

And again, the trifecta of "Socialism, Marxism, and Progressivism."  Elections have consequences, and they clearly have a problem with that.  That fear doesn't legitimate their argument, though.

It gets sillier.  They claim the country has "open borders."  But local news last night reported on the "crisis at the border," and while attempted crossings are way up, it's not because Trump is gone.  Every single person they interviewed claimed they were afraid for their life (from gangs or their governments), there were no jobs where they came from, or natural disasters had destroyed their countryside.  The critical point is, they weren't being let in.  Some were returning again and again, desperate for hope and a chance; but the only way to "close" the border with Mexico is to put enough people along it, from Brownsville to California, linked arm in arm and determined not to let "Red Rover" come over.

I suppose it would solve the unemployment problem, because you'd need a lot of people.  Then again, that would be government spending, and isn't that "socialism"?  Or is it "Marxism"?  I can't tell the scare words without a program.

Oh, and we need to roll back relations with China to pre-Nixon days.  No, I'm not kidding.  These guys have entered Curtis LeMay territory, and without a passport to boot.  Twitter and Facebook also need to let Trump back on because his blog is not making it; or something.  I don't know, they're kind of vague on that point; but of course it has something to do with Section 230, so you know these guys are legill skollars:

The free flow of information is critical to the security of our Republic, as illustrated by freedom of speech and the press being in the 1st Amendment of our Constitution. Censoring speech and expression, distorting speech, spreading disinformation by government officials, private entities, and the media is a method to suppress the free flow of information, a tyrannical technique used in closed societies. We must counter this on all fronts beginning with removing Section 230 protection from big tech.

The last great spreader of disinformation in government got voted out of office in November, so as I say, I'm not sure what they're complaining about except that, if they're agin it, it shouldn't be allowed.  Not exactly a basis for a system of government.  Hell, it's not even a basis for a military command structure.

Critical race theory shows up because of course it does.  Tells you, though, that these clowns are spending their retirement watching cable TeeVee.  Such activity doesn't lend itself to critical thinking skills:

The “Rule of Law” is fundamental to our Republic and security. Anarchy as seen in certain cities cannot be tolerated. We must support our law enforcement personnel and insist that DAs, our courts, and the DOJ enforce the law equally, fairly, and consistently toward all.

Uh, gentlemen?  Your entire letter is an argument AGAINST the "rule of law."  You do understand that, right?  Or don't you?

Bringin' it all home, the final two paragraphs:

Under a Democrat Congress and the Current Administration, our Country has taken a hard left turn toward Socialism and a Marxist form of tyrannical government which must be countered now by electing congressional and presidential candidates who will always act to defend our Constitutional Republic. The survival of our Nation and its cherished freedoms, liberty, and historic values are at stake.

We urge all citizens to get involved now at the local, state and/or national level to elect political representatives who will act to Save America, our Constitutional Republic, and hold those currently in office accountable. The “will of the people” must be heard and followed.

Apparently defending "our Constitutional Republic" means everybody votes the way the 124 would, otherwise all is lost.  That's the only "will of the people" they recognize, or will recognize.  So, what, Biden and the Democrats brainwashed 81 million of us?

I present this as "Exhibit A" for why we should dismantle the standing military and decommission and cancel the pensions of these 124 clowns while we're at it.  This is "Exhibit B":

I've had it with these mental midgets.
