Today In Congress

Truer than you know, because the question is raised: who is watching this on C-SPAN right now? Anybody? Bueller? Ferris Bueller? Yup, but it's for the pundits and Congressional Correspondents and their editors who will decide what clips play on the TeeVee machine tonight (or right now, actually, as I type). For every MTG: Who is not just a bag of nuts but batshit insane, the Dems want a Steny Hoyer or somebody else playing the adult. Because Pelosi gave McCarthy almost everything he wanted in this commission and, as usual, the GOP is trying to kill it in the cradle anyway. Stop me if you've heard this one before; or if you think this is where you came in to this movie. Or if you think you've seen this movie before. You have; right down to the journalists obsessing over "bi-partisanship" and the pundits decrying it as a shibboleth and a canard, and proclaiming anathema on the other side. Asked and answered; please see the foregoing for reference. I would actually pay money to see that clip on MTP this weekend. Even Chuck Todd is now aroused from his torpor enough to call (albeit politely) bullshit on this kind of nonsense. Sometimes it's good to know what the nutjobs are saying, know what I mean? Besides, we get to have fun with stuff like this: And while I don't think Kai Ryssdal is representative of the "Silent Majority" (weren't they supposed to save Trump in November?), I think his sentiments are the most widely shared on this subject: Which is why I still think this bill passes both houses and heads to the President's desk. Then again, what do I know?
