"Good times are comin'....."

I had this, below, written when I found that tweet above.  To put things in perspective, Edgar Welch entered Cosmic Ping Pong on December 4th, and found nothing.  Michael Flynn tweeted about "Pizzagate" (not for the first time!) the next day.  According to Gen. McCaffrey, Flynn just doesn't understand social media.

 On MSNBC Friday, December 9:

MELVIN: Retired four star general is raising red flags over president-elect Donald Trump's pick for national security advisor. Specifically concerns about Mike Flynn's Twitter feed, a site that includes posts propagating conspiracy theories and so-called fake news as well. I'm joined now by the retired military man with some harsh feedback, retired general McCaffrey, military analyst, of course. What's your chief gripe here?

MCCAFFREY: Let me say, by the way, I was somewhat reassured last night to get a long e-mail from General Flynn. What we may have here is a case of real inexperience on dealing with social media as these people move from this savage campaign mode into governance. Twitter feed may be better for teenage intrigue than policy formulation. When they're retweeting these on nonsense fantasy stories, I'm not sure they understood they seem to be endorsing them.

Well, it ain't just Twitter:

"I know from my friends in the Border Patrol in CBP that there are countries -- radical Islamist countries, state-sponsored -- that are cutting deals with Mexican drug cartels for some of what they call the 'lanes of entry' into our country… "And I have personally seen the photos of the signage along those paths that are in Arabic. They're like way points along that path as you come in. Primarily, in this case the one that I saw was in Texas and it's literally, it's like signs, that say, in Arabic, 'this way, move to this point.' It's unbelievable."

That's Flynn on a radio interview (the Border Patrol, by the way, knows nothing about such signs).  Then there's his record with the Defense Intelligence Agency:

He has called President Obama a “liar,” declared the U.S. justice system “corrupt” and insisted that he was pushed out of his assignment as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency because of his views on radical Islam. The claim has left former superiors seething, including Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr., according to current and former officials who said Flynn was removed because of management problems.

Like Trump, Flynn has advocated forging closer ties with Russia. In interviews with The Washington Post, Flynn acknowledged being paid to give a speech and attend a lavish anniversary party for the Kremlin-controlled RT television network in Moscow last year, where he was seated next to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“People went crazy,” said retired Brig. Gen. Peter B. Zwack, a former U.S. military attache in Moscow. “They thought it was so out of bounds, so unusual.” Zwack emphasized that he considers Flynn a “patriot” who “would never sell out his country.”

Flynn, who was no longer in government but received a DIA briefing on Russia before the trip, said the invitation and payment came through his speaker’s bureau. He said he used the visit to press for collaboration on Syria, Iran and the Middle East, and dismissed the ensuing controversy as “boring.” Asked why he would want to be so closely associated with a Kremlin propaganda platform, Flynn said he sees no distinction between RT and other news outlets.

“What’s CNN? What’s MSNBC? Come on!” said Flynn, who also has appeared occasionally as an unpaid on-air analyst for RT and other foreign broadcasters.

Forget ideology, why do we want to put his man in charge of national security?  And even if he really was fired because of his views on radical Islam, I'd think that was a good thing, too.  His views on Islam and Arabs are clearly nuts.

The explanation of "Pizzagate" is here, including an explanation of Flynn's reference to Podesta's e-mails.  Flynn has not retracted that tweet, or apparently changed his opinion in any way.  The only difference between Michael Flynn and Edgar Welch is that Mr. Welch realizes he was wrong.

This is not something that can be corrected by an apologetic e-mail.  This man is dangerously delusional.

  1. It's obvious that Michael Flynn was fired because he was mentally unbalanced, why they're using euphemisms and covering up what he makes obvious every time he says something in public only shows how ridiculous the system of internal, elite courtesy to members of the defense and national security establishment can get.

If anyone who was at that level in those establishments really cared about our defense and security they'd expose him as a totally unfit nutcase. They must certainly have more examples of his nuttiness and incompetence that they're holding back.

The man raves in public, I can only imagine what he was like behind closed doors.

  2. Replace "his views on radical Islam" with "his views on radical Jewry" and it's clear to see how Trump is planting the seeds of fascist control, one by one.
