Epstein insisted there would be no more than 5,000 deaths. Well, first he said 500, but when reality caught up with that, he upped his estimate. By some counts we're clearing 2000 a day, and the worse problem still is the number of people ill with the virus (by all accounts, it's not something you want, whether it's fatal to you or not). But since it's lower than 100,000 or 200,000 dead in America, it's all good!
I don't know what's more appalling: what ghouls some people are, or how arrogant they are. That he is even still opining on this subject is hubris that would stun the ancient Greeks.
