Freedom to spread disease? Freedom to infect others? Odds are these same people don't so much as blink at the law that keeps them from smoking in that restaurant, or that require the restaurant to follow basic rules of hygiene."This is freedom, right here" -- Fox & Friends is glorifying people sitting in crowded diners without masks on during a pandemic pic.twitter.com/6568mXiP81

Besides, as NPR pointed out this morning, it seems the majority of Texas businesses are more concerned about their patrons and their employees than Gov., Absent is. The Texas Tribune is reporting much the same. And the sad part is, the government of Texas seems to be more concerned with money than with people:
Meanwhile, Rep. Dustin Burrows, R-Lubbock, filed legislation last week that would prevent any business entities from being held liable for exposing people to pandemic illnesses. That provision in House Bill 3 is one of Abbott’s top priorities for this year’s legislative session. The governor was joined by Burrows in Lubbock on Tuesday when announcing plans to rescind many coronavirus restrictions against the advice of federal and local health officials.
Texans won’t be able to sue businesses, but they will be free to get sick and/or die. Which is “freedom,” too; although where I go to stay free from dumb asses who think they should spread disease with abandon is still a question I can’t get answered.
