I caught this this morning on my way to the grocery store ('tis the week to be canning peaches). Sen. Gutierrez pointed out that the story of the husband detained and hauled away from the school after his wife called to say she was dying, came exclusively from unchallenged (or confirmed) testimony in a state Senate hearing. On Uvalde law enforcement failures, @RolandForTexas: "The abject failure should be spread across the board for all law enforcement. It's not that I want to cast blame. We need to get all of the information. What we got yesterday was snippets of bodycams." #AMRstaff

Context is all.On law enforcement response in Uvalde, @RolandForTexas: "We heard DPS for an entire week blame a teacher for leaving a door open when she had to go hire a lawyer to look at the video and show that she did not leave a rock to prop open the door." #AMRstaff

More @RolandForTexas: "Yesterday in a cross examination of Colonel McGraw, I was able to ascertain there were 91 DPS troopers on site. All from the Governor's Operation Lone Star task force. Clearly, we can see that's a failure to these kids." #AMRstaff

I'm not taking anybody's story as "true" until more information is available. One question I have, for instance, is why there were 91 DPS troopers on site, and none of them could do anything until Border Patrol finally said "Fuck it, we're going in!"? Could that be the reason the Director of DPS is blaming Uvalde PD and Uvalde ISD?.@RolandForTexas: "I want all of the bodycam information...The parents in Uvalde want to hear it. You heard yesterday from the Mayor of Uvalde who said, 'I'm tired of all of the lies. I'm tired of DPS telling you little bit here and a little bit over here.'" #AMRstaff

Director McCraw was testifying to the Senate Committee assembled by Dan Patrick to investigate the Uvalde shooting. Sen. Gutierrez, who represents Uvalde in the Texas Senate, was not invited to be on that committee. I think now we know why.***PRESS RELEASE***
