You know, separate but equal was the law of the land only because 9 white guys said so. And then it wasn't because 9 white guys said so.  And we're on track to throw out a bunch of what was because now 5 people say it isn't, wasn't, and never should have been.

This idea of "judicial review" is startin' to look really, really sketchy. It had a good run, but I’m beginning to think it’s done.

The idea of a constitutional right was that it’s inviolable. It might be modified, limited, even newly understood. But removing it altogether? Negating it, rendering it no longer applicable, no longer law? That opens the door Thomas wants to open. And why? Because he can; and with four more in agreement, out of the 330 million in this country, that’s it. Game over. What they say goes for all of us, like it or not.

And there’s the rub: who elected them?

I don’t see this ending well.
