“History” Is Relative

Wasn’t it the Industrial Revolution that made that possible? First wholesale slaughter of American Bison; the passenger pigeon; even the dodo. All possible because of a surfeit of weapon (guns, projectiles) to do the job. The destruction of habitat the same: industrial power made it possible either directly, or through forced labor backed with power industry made possible (mostly, again, guns).

We never got around to the chimpanzees because there was no market for chimpanzee parts. Unlike ivory and rhinoceros horn, to name two (of many).Yes, the enlightenment taught us to despise nature and see it “red in tooth and claw “ (look in the mirror, dude). But it took the Industrial Revolution to give us the tools of mass slaughter, and to finally turn it on whole species. Just as it made it possible to alter the climate; against us.

So, yeah. If you think “most of our history” goes back only 200 years.
Remind me again how popular Rogan and Carlson are. And who they are popular with? And “shooting the shit” is something best done among friends as drunk or stoned as you. It’s not a spectator sport; or even the 21st century American version of the salons of Paris of such repute.
