Although in the White House:
At the latest coronavirus task force press briefing on Thursday, President Donald Trump was asked about the ongoing problems with the Paycheck Protection Program, the portion of the CARES Act that offers stimulus relief to small businesses through banks. Trump’s response was to push back on the idea there was a problem at all.Of course, he also said this:
“I’m hearing it’s a very, very successful rollout,” said Trump, noting that, “They’re doing record numbers of dollars.”
At Thursday’s coronavirus task force press briefing, President Donald Trump was asked why the federal government is ending its support for COVID-19 testing programs around the country, he stood by that move.
“We have a great testing system,” he insisted. He said that in “some” parts of the country, the testing is “phenomenal.”
Which is 100% bullshit.
In the meantime, GOP governors keep facing up to reality:The Federal Government under Trump is running about as well as one of his casinos. https://t.co/2geGHeselv— The Lincoln Project (@ProjectLincoln) April 10, 2020
Another Republican Governor (Hogan of Maryland) opts for a primary which will feature mail-in ballots, because of the Coronavirus threat. https://t.co/UpIfAUnzwG— Jamie Dupree (@jamiedupree) April 9, 2020
GOP legislators, of course, have no such individual responsibility, so....
And while we're on these subjects:
The weird thing about this question and this answer is the US is already doing more than 750,000 tests a week. Trump apparently has no idea what's going on with testing. https://t.co/DcKWuhhPUc— German Lopez (@germanrlopez) April 9, 2020
A "very high number." At that rate, we'll be finished testing everyone in America in 436 weeks!
Obviously much too fast....
