They tried this after the Santa Fe shooting (if memory serves it was that one). It didn't go anywhere. Teachers don't want to bring guns to school or be responsible for keeping them locked up in the classroom. Does Cruz imagine teachers "strapped" like gunfighters in a Western? And what happens when the kid grabs teacher's gun? (You know it would happen.) This is not a serious solution and Cruz knows it isn't. He doesn't care. Which is part of what differentiates him from this "solution":

Yeah, that's not gonna happen, either. We can't slice the baloney so thin it only has one side. And the minute you get this "dream," Republicans take control and undo, because that's what the people who voted that time, wanted. And because the people who got what they wanted decide: "Won and done."  I've seen this movie. I know how it comes out.

This is not going to change without a change of culture.  Which has already changed, as we don't even blink at the thought of 10 year olds being shot to death at their school.  There are reports of children trying to scramble out of windows at that school today.

Don't expect Cruz or Abbott or Paxton or Cornyn or Trump to mention that to the NRA this weekend.
