Trump angrily lashes out over report that lawyers are refusing to represent him https://t.co/1Njth2Xra8
— Raw Story (@RawStory) August 18, 2022
"The WAPO story that 'Trump is scrambling to add seasoned lawyers' to the Mar-a-Lago Raid case is, as usual, FAKE NEWS," Trump wrote. "I already have excellent and experienced lawyers — am very happy with them. This is highly political prosecutorial misconduct, I have not been charged with anything and, most importantly, I did nothing wrong. Thank you!"Yeah, sure.
When you have lawyers like Bobb, this is what you get:Laura Ingraham coaches Trump attorney Christina Bobb live on the air. She doesn't seem to think she's doing a great job. pic.twitter.com/CfblR0MQBJ

Subject, of course, to the Popehat rule that it’s probably another lie and not worth speculating on. 🤔Wait until he finds out that #SCOTUS has made it virtually impossible to sue federal law enforcement officers for even egregious violations of the Fourth Amendment… pic.twitter.com/VyGiitUuc1

Levin, for what it's worth, endorsed the strategy and said he thinks Trusty is doing a good job.

Trusty said Trump team wants to know what "pre-raid" converastion was and whether agents were given instructions not to review potentially privileged info.
No, the biggest remaining question is: why do you go on TeeVee to discuss your legal strategy? Because, given the quality of Trump’s lawyers, the reason for the 11 day delay is obvious. All of these questions would have been apparent to Trump's team even as the search was happening, so the biggest remaining question is what it took 11 days to adopt this strategy.

Narrator: It won’t “stick” until 2024. It won’t even stick until Trump finally announces what everybody knows:“‘The rally-around-Trump effect is real,’ she said, while adding that “whether or not it sticks” is uncertain.” https://t.co/OOx8toN6Ed

Trump now inclined to wait until after the Nov. midterms to announce his 2024 candidacy, in part so as not to be blamed if Republicans under-perform in the elections, per source close to him.

Maybe there's a reason for that:Trump’s lawyers literally didn’t file anything on this motion. They made no argument regarding Trump’s interest in unsealing the affidavit. His lawyer just sat in the gallery and watched. Weird huh https://t.co/FOhqSAhHnM

An area where I do think we could see something that would be very useful is the whole back-and-forth between the Department and Donald Trump and his people," said Weissman. "That's something that Donald Trump knows, those people can clearly put it out there and I could see the judge saying, you know what, I don't really see how that implicates so much the concerns here from a national security perspective. Maybe some of the substance would be redacted, but that seems like it would give us a fair amount of detail on something, and more than we know now."
My sentiments exactly.Waaa….waaa….waaa… https://t.co/g7u6Geo2g3 via @reddit pic.twitter.com/pY2DaRjX7G
