Sure they will:☄️ Republicans will emerge from the Trump era gutted:
— Axios (@axios) January 15, 2021
• They lost their congressional power
• McConnell and McCarthy are hamstrung by corporate blacklisting of election-denying members
• The GOP brand is radioactive for a huge chunk of America https://t.co/n8pILoI7PB
Remind me: does Axios do any reporting that isn't from D.C.? And "a huge chunk of America"? What portion of the 50 states would that be, exactly? Because much as I would like to see it, I don't see people rising up to toss Republicans out of the Texas Capitol this weekend, as the Lege gets underway for its biennial six month stint at funding state agencies, public schools, redistricting (again!)(which gave us, among other things, the ridiculously gerrymandered district Dan Crenshaw represents), and fixing the calamitous clown show that has been the covid vaccine rollout. I don't even see a groundswell of populist opposition to seditious Ted Cruz and inciter of insurrection Ken Paxton. Again, much as I'd like to. And this is the second most populous state in the union.Counterpoint: Republicans shaved off a chunk of Democrats' House majority; they look on track to maybe take back the House in 2022; they avoided Senate losses in North Carolina, Maine and Iowa; and they didn't lose any state houses, so they control redistricting. https://t.co/cOAwVarlZY
