The Way We Live Now

Didn’t know that, did ya? And yet those cases don’t shine a light on anything. They’re about statutory rape and families and children. And they still seem too rare and remote to build policy on.

This is where policy is gonna happen.
If the maternal mortality rate starts climbing among people we care about (you know what I mean), look for changes in abortion law to rapidly follow. The worst part is how unnecessary those deaths are/will be (thanks, Alito!). Second worst; the worst is how high maternal mortality rates already are, and no one notices because the “wrong” people are affected.
