Never doubted the FBI could search my house. Another reason I never took classified documents to an unsecured location.Hi. Longtime public defender here. I & my colleagues around the country have millions of stories of *actual* state violence, misconduct, & illegality we could share w/ you. Don’t have to imagine. They predominately involve Black & brown people though. Would you still care? https://t.co/kqoKtNWrsu

This is the new "threat," this talk of "Civil War."NEW:
— Ryan J. Reilly (@ryanjreilly) August 9, 2022
A bunch of Trump supporters are talking about “civil war” following the FBI’s Mar-A-Largo search.
One of them? A current Jan. 6 defendant who is awaiting sentencing.
Story with the great @oneunderscore__: https://t.co/e4w8J1Vt1F
But let's see: 700 to 900 (I'm guesstimating; this is back of the envelope stuff) people were arrested for invading the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Spread that out evenly (and generously) across the 50 states, and you get...14 to 18 participants per state. Okay, Texas seems to have produced a large number of those people, maybe the largest number. Move 'em all to Texas, it's still basically a graduating class for a small college. At best. They wouldn't fill a football stadium on Friday night, except in a really small town. And those are the ones crazy enough to think violence was going to win them what the rule of law didn't.New + exclusive from me:

After Mar-a-Lago search, users on pro-Trump forums agitate for ‘civil war’ — including a Jan. 6 rioterhttps://t.co/kRT1Ulc8ZT
Much more to the point.“This is going to enrage Trump’s base”
— Ben Wexler (@mrbenwexler) August 9, 2022
Bro, the words ‘Happy Holidays’ enrage Trump’s base
When I see these scare tweets about "87,000 IRS Agents" I think of the percentage of people who file a 1040EZ, or even file free with TurboTax and the like (same difference). People, IOW, who don't make enough to itemize, and so don't have tax returns that will draw the interest of the IRS. Besides, is Sen. Cruz encouraging tax fraud because there aren't now enough agents to investigate it? If there's a fear of 87,000 new enforcement agents, is among the wealthy, not among the rest of us. Know your enemy.Apparently, someone *is* above the law. pic.twitter.com/JTph85btZ7

Trump’s savvy decision to get raided by the FBI is already paying big political dividends.

No, he mustn't. It's an ongoing criminal investigation. If he starts talking about it in public, he could screw it into the ground. Or is that what you meant?Do you honestly and seriously believe that a federal magistrate judge might not have had probable cause to issue a search warrant for the home of the man who would have been perfectly happy to see you murdered on January 6, 2021? https://t.co/4kL1p6qvBE

Yea, I guess it is.Only investigate democrats is basically the GOP party line now https://t.co/nJE7AuY16N

I'm sure the D.C. court was waiting until the day after the FBI "raid" to issue that opinion. It's all part of the conspiracy, ya know.... Besides, if they can release Trump's tax returns to Congress, they can release yours, too!D.C. Cir. today (upholding a House demand for Trump's tax returns): "Every President takes office knowing that he will be subject to the same laws as all other citizens upon leaving office. This is a feature of our democratic republic, not a bug." https://t.co/esUllNv3oQ pic.twitter.com/lj6GWUZkYO

It's only bad when Democrats do it! (Didn't we cover that already?)CNN is not messing around during this interview with Rep. Mike Turner (R) pic.twitter.com/KG0raczRYR
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) August 9, 2022
And the only way we CAN know is to release all the documents so we can read them and decide for ourselves! (There's reporting that some of the documents are "so classified" what they are, much less what they contain, cannot be released to the public. But, hey, we can't trust the government of which you are a part, right, Rep. Turner?) We trusted the government when Hillary was in the cross-hairs! But we can't now!Pamela Brown: Secretary Clinton, you at the time indicated you were outraged by the way she handled classified information...so why don't you share that same concert with Donald Trump?
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) August 9, 2022
Rep. Mike Turner: In this instance we don't really know that these informations are classified pic.twitter.com/Mcbz6A7LuX
— Bad Legal Takes (@BadLegalTakes) August 9, 2022I really worry about the level of stupid in this country.
Like I said: "Lock 'em up!"Advocating the necessity or justice of violence is protected by the First Amendment unless intended and likely to cause imminent lawless action or done in a way that a reasonable listener would take as expression of intent to do harm. So is being this emotionally incontinent. pic.twitter.com/loJKpKNVN5

I hope it’s a Black, AAPI, Latino, Native American, Woman only jury if Trump ever gets indicted. Karma is a b*tch. pic.twitter.com/jjrBdjlF8r
