    Just think of all the slogans of the cabloid media that have been disproved in the Trump regime, perhaps most of all that there is something desirable about having a businessman as president. Having a Republican as president, thought that's something that was disproved long ago. That there are adults in the Republican Party, that the media were going to save us from disaster and despotism.

    I do have to say the past nineteen years have been that kind of an education for me, I would never have predicted it could be this bad and there was some prospect of it continuing like this. That's one of the hobby horses of the secular left that I think we've pretty well given the bolt to the head, that all we have to do is wait for it to get bad enough and the glorious socialist millennium will start automatically as that ol' dialectic moves it's ass, as can be perceived still at Majority Report and other such venues. There's no guaranteed bottom that will be reached, not only won't that dialectic move, there is absolutely no evidence it is there. Marx's scenario left out that his distortion of socialism was just another form of gangsterism, it couldn't have moved his dialectic anywhere, as Putin and Xi show, it's just another name for the same kind of gangsterism.

    I'm so tired and discouraged I'm more or less free associating, these days.
