Shades Of Days Gone By

This shakes loose memories of 1973. Nixon had won literally every state except Massachusetts in ‘72, but political parties were different beasts in those days. The crazies of the GOP were still in the future. Still, it wasn’t John Dean who ended Nixon’s presidency single-handedly, and it was some time before Arlan Spector and Howard Baker told Nixon to his face it was over.

It started with pebbles, not the full avalanche. Ever heard of Jacobs? Me neither. But Trump is losing support and more polls indicate GOP voters are tired of him (inevitably). And the H6 Committee is doing its job, as the Watergate Committee did 50 years ago.

And it’s still the GOP in the cross-hairs. It always is.
Why do you think the GOP is talking like this? They only have three rules of politics left: distraction, distraction, and distraction. Besides, by their lights Benghazi worked. Trump won, didn’t he?

  1. The media, especially the cabloids helped the Republicans every way they could and they will again.
