"Texas Freedom” is neither a DA in Dallas County nor is it the State Bar of Texas. So they can’t criminally prosecute anyone, or disbar any lawyer. (They’d have to convince the State Bar that a lawyer had violated the DR’s sufficient to warrant a civil suit for disbarment, which would take place in Austin. Yea, that’ll happen.)
Welcome to @gop’s hellscape vision of an America subject to the whims of a theocratic authoritarian male minority. @SidleyLaw, stand strong or they’ll next come for your LGBTQ+, Jewish, and black partners. Slippery slopes don’t have off ramps. https://t.co/DJUiLCsdgh — David Huebner (@DavidHuebner) July 9, 2022
DA’s in the major metropolitan counties, like Dallas, have publicly pledged
not to prosecute abortion cases.
So the likely consequence of this threat is to motivate lawyers to vote for
Democrats. Unless they want to just abandon their employees.
Oh, and give Texas Freedom the Johnny Cash.
Dark humor for dark times, but there is something pretty funny about the idea of them accidentally making one of the country’s preeminent litigation firms the defendant in a test case for restraint of interstate travel/commerce. https://t.co/h3apI6cQES
