A) No shit, Sherlock. b) Donald Trump has never faced criminal investigation(s) before.Republicans told to quiet their attacks on the FBI because the info on Trump could be damaging: report https://t.co/7sLewVPTEE

BREAKING: DOJ has moved ot unseal limited portions of the Mar-a-Lago search warrant. https://t.co/d2HBLgkZQc

Garland: I personally approved decision to seek a search warrant in this matter.
— Scott MacFarlane (@MacFarlaneNews) August 11, 2022
DOJ's motion to unseal the search warrant and property receipt, linked below, only seeks to unseal the documents that are already in Trump's possession.
— Renato Mariotti (@renato_mariotti) August 11, 2022
The underlying application and affidavit detailing evidence justifying the search will remain sealed. https://t.co/5sRQmTEWcG
Key point in AG Garland's statement: DOJ was willing to do this quietly, *without* making a public spectacle of the search.
— Steve Vladeck (@steve_vladeck) August 11, 2022
It was *President Trump's* decision to make it public that turned this all into a spectacle (and is leading DOJ to move to unseal part of the application).
Merrick Garland called Donald Trump’s bluff: legal expert https://t.co/eK1gFhtLxE
— Raw Story (@RawStory) August 11, 2022
"We essentially saw Merrick Garland call Donald Trump's bluff," Honig said. "So essentially Merrick garland said, 'Okay, Donald Trump, you're not going to release them, we're going to do it, we're going to put those documents in front of the American public.'"Honig also explained what he's looking for if the documents are unsealed."The warrant typically will list logistical information, place to be searched, usually a general description of items to be searched for, the name of the judge, a deadline by which DOJ has to execute the search," Honig said."But it also sometimes has what we call an attachment," he explained. "That attachment typically will list the statutes, the laws that DOJ believes it has probable cause to believe were violated. So that's going to be the first thing I look for. I'm going to look right at that attachment and say do they list the statutes, that's going to tell us what laws could be at play here."
The only interesting question is whether Trump will oppose the motion to unseal the MAL warrant, and if so, why.

Alright, I'll close with this, because Trump is this stupid:The immediate question now is whether President Trump will *oppose* DOJ's request to unseal parts of the search warrant application and seized property list. Judge Reinhart can do it *anyway,* but Trump's response will be one to watch.

Raw Story:Trump: But what about Obama? pic.twitter.com/zkIuRzdeUB
— The Republican Accountability Project (@AccountableGOP) August 11, 2022
"As was reported back in late 2016, the Obama team was transferring the records to Chicago through the National Archives, which legally owns the documents once a president leaves office," the Washington Post wrote in a fact-checking article earlier this week. "Once the documents ultimately reached a warehouse in Chicago, the Obama Foundation was then due to pay the National Archives and Record Administration to digitize the documents. The lengthiness of that process aside, there isn’t the faintest hint of legal violations."
I'm sure this will inspire his minions to take to their keyboards in righteous wrath.
NEW: Judge says responses to DOJ's motion to unseal search warrant application due by 8/25/2022."

Trump entirely did this to himself. EVERYBODY DRINK! (Coffee, water, I don't care! Raise a glass!) Because Trump has until tomorrow to decide!By the way Trump could file something TODAY saying he doesn’t oppose unsealing the warrant and it would be public probably by tomorrow. Or he could just release his copy.

And so much for the riots in the streets and the "GESTAPO" FBI:Newly filed order puts the deadline to tomorrow afternoon on whether President Trump would like to weigh in on keeping the search warrant sealed pic.twitter.com/I6bdQPInxn

Fox News hosts now asking why Trump hasn’t released the warrant. Bret Baer and Martha MacCallum both agree that the next piece of info needed is the warrant, and expressed uncertainty about why Trump hasn’t released it.
