We Shall Not Miss Him, No, Not One Bit

Or just to protect our God-given right to have guns. Is that theocratic?

Engel v. Vitale was decided in 1962. Charles Whitman was 21.  Four years later, he'd climb the stairs to the observation deck of the Tower at UT Austin.  He shot 14 people (killed his mother and his wife with knives at home, first), and wounded 31 others.

Do you think, at the age of 25, he was upset about a Supreme Court ruling from four years earlier?  Or the fact that children could no longer be required to listen to a prayer read by the school every day in class?

I know it's a cheap political point for the knuckle draggers back home in Gohmert's district (where I grew up).  But goddamn!, Louie Gohmert is a stupid man!
