The First Thing We Do…

The State Bar of Texas is also suing to revoke Ken Paxton’s license because of his stupid appeal to the Supreme Court to overturn the 2020 election. I’ve never seen the State Bar this active in trying to revoke licenses.

ETTD really is a law of nature.

BTW:  Bannon is in court this morning for a pre-trial hearing which will set the rules for what evidence is allowed.  Bannon wants to present evidence he is trying to testify to the Committee (on his terms:  live in public) to the jury, basically to sow confusion.  Settled 9th Circuit law is that he can't clear the contempt by deciding later to comply with the order.  So unlikely that evidence will be allowed to come in, and today should tell that tale (it may be told by the time you read this).

Analysis is that Trump wanted Bannon on TeeVee to shred the committee and defend Trump.  That, of course, is never going to happen, because the Committee controls the release of evidence, and nobody is going to be deposed (testify under oath) live for the first time.  Although it would be fun to see Bannon invoke the 5th, which is pretty much inevitable.  Trump is desperate to change the nation's channel, but he can't do that.  And Cipollone's testimony is expected to be played, in segments, before the month is out.

Meanwhile Bannon's looking at possible 2 years in jail (one for each contempt count; doubtful it will be that long, of course) and very high fines.  Maybe he's not as defiant as he once was?  Or maybe he is.  I want him to testify before the jury; I'm sure they'll be impressed. πŸ˜‰
