Watching Pence IRT

I’m reminded of the story of Phil Gramm going to New Hampshire in the primaries. Gramm was so personally repellent that, one in one with Gramm, his most ardent supporters were disgusted.

Pence isn’t Gramm redux, but long term exposure, even in a Chuck Todd interview, is not winning Pence any friends. And even Todd challenged Pence’s “two-tier” justice system. Pence claimed that had been going on (against Republicans, hence the complaint) for 7 years. Todd asked if he really meant the Trump DOJ under Barr was biased against Republicans. Pence was such a weasel even Todd couldn’t stand it.

That’s a world class level of weaselry.

There’s usually a complaint about interviewers not offering “push back.” But Pence braided the rope, tied the hangman’s noose, put his head through the noose, and pulled the lever on the trap door of the gallows.
