FRIDAY NIGHT NEWS: House Republican Jaime Herrera-Beutler pleads for Pence, Trump aides to speak out on Jan. 6 insurrectionhttps://t.co/NoKuYmgKIg

Also, there is a different between not KNOWING Pence was in danger, and not CARING. No one from the White House reached to Pence or his team that day. Finally, Pence’s chief, Marc Short, called Trump’s chief, Mark Meadows, to say they were all safe. And going to certify the vote. https://t.co/7wdd0TPDwg

"Sen. Tommy Tuberville stands by account of Jan. 6 Trump phone call after lawyers say it's 'hearsay.'" (via @nicholaswu12) https://t.co/b2cy9Zp9ly

How convenient. An important timeline clarification. Sen. Mike Lee's office says this evening he's now been able to peg the time of the call he received from Trump on Jan. 6 (intended for Sen. Tuberville) to 2:26 p.m. That's two minutes after Trump tweeted about Pence at 2:24 p.m.

Lee has said he handed his phone to Tuberville. Tuberville has said he told Trump that Pence had been taken away and then ended the call because the Senate was being evacuated, which was at 2:30 p.m.

Looks like Trump’s BS-artist attorneys may have crossed the line from BS to something much more serious. https://t.co/Mh5uu1Dkj2

"How dare you?"Trump’s lawyers are likely under ethics obligation to clean this up: duty of candor to a tribunal. You don’t get as counsel to make misrepresentations; if you do, you have an affirmative duty to clean it up. Tomorrow just got a lot more interesting.

One way to clear it up? Suspend trial to depose McCarthy and Tuberville under oath and get facts. Ask Secret Service to produce for review comms back to White House re VP Pence safety during siege. What did Trump know, and when did he know it?

Calling witnesses doesn't *have* to delay other legislative business. Rule XI allows the Senate to appoint a committee to hear testimony and report back to the full Senate. Witnesses would be under oath, there'd be a full record, and the Senate could carry on in the meantime. pic.twitter.com/DtBGePEwPQ

Tomorrow is the day subpoenas can issue:

*Subpoena Trump
*Subpoena Pence
*Subpoena the Secret Service
No chance what we heard today was the truth. https://t.co/qmPIPuX78h
"Stop the steal.”NEW: Two Senate Democrats are now calling for witnesses as key details about Trump's conduct while the Jan. 6 violence unfolded have come to light.

The big question: Will House managers agree?
