A Brilliant Strategy?

Or the desperate denial of a pathological narcissist refusing to accept reality? Is this a legal strategy he thinks he can carry out in every state he’s losing? Or the terror of a man who will go down in history as a loser?

At the very least, this is not a legal argument.

  1. As we heard from Michael Caputo, they're planning on their armed cultists to start killing people to keep him in power, something I think the Supreme Court could not have had in mind as they gave permission for them to be dangerously armed. This is a lot more dangerous as we get closer and I would expect that there will be actual incidents of Trump cultists shooting people. The Brooks Bros.riots and Tea Party astroturf events are just forerunners to this and I've got no confidence that in some places the police won't aid them as they did that 17 year old murderer in Kenosha. This is grim and getting worse, every hour.

  2. Caputo is a toad and as likely to stir violence as Jared Kushner is. Somebody somewhere will carry a gun to a polling place, likely on Election Day in a state with early voting where most of the votes have been cast already. And it will get everyone excited because "gun!"; and that will be the end of it.

I'm tired of the ceaseless clucking on the intertoobs (not from you, from Twitter, mostly) about how many ways this election can go pearshaped. They all boil down to a scenario where "Florida" (or pick your state) is critical to the decision, and it's Bush v. Gore redux. But Trump wants to fight in Nevada and Florida and Ohio and Wisconsin and...you name it. Can't be done. Nor is this race likely to come down to one state. Once again Trump will scream about "illegals" who voted "in the millions" in California, and busloads of voters crossing into New Hampshire (from Maine?) to vote illegally there (how this is done is never explained. This is the basic reason we have voter registration now, though voter ID is a bridge too far and violates, IMHO, the VRA and so the 15th Amendment, but that's more honored in the breach than in the keeping). Yes, AP will dither on election night about who "won" even though they are as official a tally as the DJIA is an economic indicator, but horrors!, Trump will claim victory!!!

And then what? Riots in the streets when the vote count is finished and Trump loses? Caputo leading a charge on the electoral college? Crazed hordes descending on Congress demanding they not accept the electoral college vote results?

These people aren't that smart. Or that organized. Or that likely to get themselves to Washington, much less know what to do when they get there. Mostly they'll stomp around the streets of where they live, if that much.

What we actually need is a media that explains how a President is elected. Not just the electoral college count by state, but actually how that college functions under the Constitution and federal law: when it meets, what the electors do, and how they report to Congress, who has a role in it, too. Right now they've got most of the country convinced AP calls it on election night based on who got up to 270 in the EC tally. Most people (including Trump) have no idea what the mechanism is at all.

As for Caputo: he should be forced from public service for his idiocy and dangerous comments. OTOH, I'd love to do a random sampling of Trump supporters with guns, asking them to identify Michael Caputo

My guess is the majority of them would say "Who?"
