Trumpworld πŸ«₯

But Twitter is supposed to be a safe space! I was just thinking that countries that don't prosecute former leaders are usually called “banana republics.” France recently prosecuted and imprisoned their former President for crimes, some of which I think he committed as President. If we can’t do as much, we are a country of men (literally), and not laws.

I remember this same anxiety about investigating Nixon (and what would we be saying now if Ford had let his DOJ prosecute those crimes?). In the end, the country that 1 year earlier had given him one of the largest electoral votes victories in American history, wanted him out.

And Nixon didn’t take national secrets to San Clemente and make some very highly classified documents disappear. 🫠
The next time Trump says "election interference!”, answer him with: “nation security interference!” One is slightly more important than the other. That’s why the latter is a criminal offense.
